Bernard Généreux re-elected with a strong majority in Montmagny—L’Islet—Kamouraska—Rivière-du-Loup

Montmagny, Tuesday, October 22, 2019- Bernard Généreux, the Conservative candidate, won the 2019 election and will be the Member of Parliament for Montmagny—L’Islet—Kamouraska—Rivière-du-Loup in the 43rd Parliament.
On election night at the Nouvelle Salle de La Pocatière, Mr. Généreux immediately thanked voters for their trust, volunteers, his family and members of his team. “I’m so proud to see that people in the riding recognized the work I’ve done over the past four years. That’s the message they’ve sent with this large majority.” He also took the opportunity to acknowledge the work of the other candidates.
Mr. Généreux said he was relieved not to have to go through a recount again. “As the saying goes, good things come in threes.” Mr. Généreux said he stayed positive throughout the campaign. “Campaigns change day to day. We aimed to stay focused on our goal and stay positive. I’m very happy about that. Our work paid off.” He said that he wanted his campaign to reflect his recent term, and that he was proud of it.
Official Opposition
Although he is once again in the official opposition, with the election of new Conservative MPs across the country the Liberals have been reduced to a minority government. Mr. Généreux says that he will continue to advance issues that are important to his constituents in Ottawa. “Above all, rest assured that my team and I will continue to listen to and work with the people in our riding, as I always have.”
