Family-friendly activities such as inflatable games, cotton candy, face-painting, live music, lawn bowling and a corn roast made this intergenerational event a fun way to kick off the fall season.
“I was excited about putting this event together with my team, but it ended up being a lot better than expected. We thought we’d see at most about 100 people from Rivière-du-Loup, but people came from all across the riding. Luckily we had ordered a lot of corn so everybody was able to enjoy some. We also had the young entrepreneur Enzo of Créations Makenzo and the Sadaka drumming group join in the celebrations. I won’t hide the fact that, given how successful the event was, as we were wrapping up yesterday we were already thinking about ideas for the next one, which will certainly take place in another park in Montmagny—L’Islet—Kamouraska—Rivière-du-Loup,” said Mr. Généreux.
“I’d like to congratulate the Club des 50 ans et plus from Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix for winning the best apple pie contest with their apple crumble recipe, edging out the Club de la FADOQ from La Pocatière. The winning recipe will appear in the upcoming MP newsletter.”
“We were thorough about sorting garbage, recyclables and organics. We wanted to manage the event responsibly. Volunteers at the site used information fliers provided by Co-Éco to encourage everyone to compost, which is what they did,” said the MP.
This successful event was made possible through the exceptional contributions of the City of Rivière-du-Loup and its department of recreation, Propane Sélect, Chapiteaux Germain Dumont and Maxi Rivière-du-Loup.
