Three Projects in Mp Généreux’ Riding Receive Funding From the FCC’s AgriSpirit Fund

Bernard Généreux,

Bernard Généreux, MP for Montmagny—L’Islet—Kamouraksa—Rivière-du-Loup, is very pleased that three projects in his riding are among 16 projects in Quebec and 77 projects across Canada to receive funding from Farm Credit Canada’s AgriSpirit Fund. Farm Credit Canada is awarding $62,000 to the member’s riding in 2017.

The Amphithéâtre de l’Islet-Nord project is receiving the maximum amount of $25,000 to replace its ventilation system. The Municipality of Saint-Joseph-de-Kamouraska is also receiving $25,000 for the construction of a fire hall for its fire department. The Association des personnes handicapées du Kamouraska-Est (APHK) has received $12,000 to purchase and renovate its facilities.

MP Bernard Généreux is pleased that the mayor’s meeting held in January is now yielding results. At that meeting, Darlene McBain of the AgriSpirit Fund gave a presentation on the fund’s eligibility criteria to representatives of municipalities with a population of less than 150,000 and representatives of charities and non-profit organizations interested in proposing capital projects valued between $5,000 and $25,000 in the riding. In 2017, the FCC AgriSpirit Fund donated $1.5 million to communities across Canada.

“I am amazed at the quality of projects submitted. I invite organizations to contact my regional director, Annie Francoeur, at my Montmagny or Rivière-du-Loup office to prepare for the next application period, which will open in March 2018. My team and I continue to work hard to identify alternative sources of funding.”
