The MP for Montmagny–L’Islet–Kamouraska–Rivière-du-Loup, Bernard Généreux, is preparing his next tour of the riding, which will take place throughout 2018. Building on his successful tour of the tourism industry in 2016 and his tour promoting businesses looking for workers in 2017, Généreux is embarking on a tour to showcase one of the pillars of the riding’s economy—the agri-food sector.
The tour will begin with maple syrup season in April and conclude with the harvest in September. The MP and his team will use their on-site visits to highlight the four seasons that direct farmers’ work. Généreux will make use of multiple virtual and traditional media platforms to spread the word about the riding’s know-how. Once again, he will play the role of host, leading his listeners and online followers to discover the many unique local producers, winemakers, researchers and processors in the riding. The tour will revolve around four main themes: research and development, education, production and processing.
“I am calling on all produce growers, dairy farmers, maple syrup producers, farm equipment repairers, beekeepers and other farmers in the riding to contact me to set up a tour of their facilities. We have a lot of expertise, and I want to help showcase it. Your innovative and unique businesses deserve to be better known. Farms of all types and sizes are supplying the region’s public markets and grocery stores, so we certainly have a lot to be proud of,” said Généreux.
Spaces are still available for those who wish to join the tour. Simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-855-881-9876.
