Funding granted through the New Horizons for Seniors program

Bernard Généreux, the MP for Montmagny–L’Islet–Kamouraska–Rivière-du-Loup, is pleased to announce that funding has been granted to 23 local organizations, for a total of $409,620. Last year, the 25 approved projects received $384,429 in funding. In 2016, $331,939 was granted to 18 projects. Amounts range from $3,000 to $25,000, which is the maximum amount granted for community projects carried out by stakeholders such as municipal governments and non-profit organizations.

“Through the New Horizons program, the Government of Canada is taking steps to help seniors share their knowledge, skills and experiences, which strengthens our social fabric and reduces isolation,” he said. “Organizations know that we can help them put their best foot forward when they apply, and the results show how successful that approach has been!”
